Ruff & Rowdy Bison Chow is based on the B.A.R.F. (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) diet. This diet is about feeding your dog properly, or as Mother Nature intended to maintain your pet’s optimum health, longevity and reproduction capabilities.

What Are The Benefits Of A B.A.R.F. Diet?

• Promotes healthy skin and coat
• Helps dogs suffering with allergies
• Promotes development of healthy teeth and gums, reduces bad breath
• Reduces the amount of stool since the food is used by the body rather than excreted
• Since there is very little or no grain in the diet, the stool odor is reduced
• Reduces needs for veterinary care and expense
• Reduces shedding
• Promotes a mentally and emotionally healthy pet

1st USDA & FDA Inspected & Approved Frozen Raw Bison Dog Food

What is a B.A.R.F. Diet?

A dog, true to it's evolution, should not eat commercially prepared food that is processed, baked, based on grains, loaded with salt, sugar, food additives, or coloring. Dogs are descended from wolves, and should eat nothing other than a wolf’s diet. In the wild wolves have a variety of foods, meat, fish, fruits, and vegetables. When they kill their prey they consume everything – meat, bones, hair, and stomach contents which contained partially digested fruits and vegetables.
Many pet owners understand the benefits of a natural diet. However, determining what is truly best for your pet can often be difficult, if not impossible. Ruff & Rowdy Bison Chow eliminates the guesswork. Every bite of our diet is based on a scientifically balanced and blended recipe of raw ingredients specifically formulated with quality ingredients. Our food has not been cooked so all of the natural enzymes remain intact, retaining maximum values of nutrients.
Ruff & Rowdy Bison Chow meets your dog's nutritional needs with the type of natural diet they were designed to eat. Clean teeth, shiny coats, and smaller stools are just a few of the benefits you can expect with this exceptional diet.
Your vet bills will decrease and your pet’s life will be extended.
The truth is there are a lot of healthy advantages to switching your dog over to a raw food diet. This diet is much easier for your dog to digest and provides a multitude of vitamins and minerals that he/she would not normally get.
Owners of dogs that have switched have found that problems such as skin irritations, food allergies, weight problems and a host of various diseases have been significantly improved through this diet. We can attest to this fact ourselves. Having thin hair and being mostly white, our dogs are prone to skin allergies, however after switching to a BARF diet they have a healthier coat and skin condition. Not only are they extremely fit and their teeth sparkling clean, they also have more energy during playtime.
The overall benefit of the BARF diet is the improved health and vitality of your dog. You will also find that your dog will produce fewer stools that are smaller and not as smelly, making clean up easier. The fecal material easily breaks down into powder and in time is reabsorbed back into the ground. Also, you will no longer have to go through that gross task of cleaning anal glands.

What’s Wrong with Dry Dog Food?

First of all the majority of commercial dog foods are based upon grains. Dogs are not normally grains eaters, but because it’s cheaper to produce grains are used.
Second of all, the nutritional value that was in the dog food has been baked out at 500 degrees!
Most importantly, processed dog foods are designed to swell once water is added (usually once it’s in the stomach). The dog’s digestive system works on a mass of food sitting in the stomach. Bloat or torsion (flipping of the stomach) has become one of the major killers of large dogs. Research has proven that prior to processed dog foods, dogs dying of torsion were relatively few.
Finally, look at your dog’s teeth. Tarter build up and gum disease and ultimately loss of teeth are major problems for today’s dogs. This is due to high concentration of grains in today’s dog foods.
Before switching your dog over to a raw food diet, you should take the time to research more about this approach. Talk to your veterinarian, as well as talking to others who already have their dogs on this diet. There are many forums online that you can visit and post questions to. There are also several books regarding this subject that will help you with your decision. Feeding a BARF diet is definitely a way to improve the overall health of your dog, and more importantly, you know exactly what your dog is eating.

What about Parasites and Choking On Bones?

A dog's stomach has a much shorter digestive tract than humans and it is very acidic. Therefore it quickly kills bacteria and most parasites.
Bones have been a staple food for dogs for centuries. But recently most dogs do not get real raw bones. This is primarily due to the concern over splintering bones piercing dog’s digestive tracts. To avoid this problem we finely grind our bones into the dog food mixture. The nutrients in bones are absolutely necessary to developing a healthy dog. We also offer real raw bones as well. Giving your dog these bones helps develop strong muscles as they pull and tear away the meat from the bone. The actual chewing of the bones cleans tarter from the teeth without need for human intervention. And best of all your dog will be happy chewing bones instead of something else in your home.
